The ARD Summit programme is structured around three thematic days — Legitimacy & Sovereignty, Industrialisation & Investment, and Heritage & Commitment — culminating in the Awards Gala Dinner on the evening of 30 July.

DAY ONE · 28 JULY

LEGITIMACY & SOVEREIGNTY

Opening ceremonies, royal addresses, and high-level plenary sessions establishing the governance and legitimacy framework of the ARD Summit.

DAY TWO · 29 JULY

INDUSTRIALISATION & INVESTMENT

Deal rooms, investment roundtables, sectoral panels on mining, infrastructure and agri-processing, and closed-door bilateral facilitation.

DAY THREE · 30 JULY

HERITAGE & COMMITMENT

Cultural programming, commitment declarations, exhibition walk, closing ceremony, and the ARD Excellence Awards Gala Dinner.

DAY ONE
LEGITIMACY & SOVEREIGNTY

08:00 – 09:30

Delegate Registration & Welcome Reception

Credentialing, delegate welcome packs, and protocol introductions. Hosted by the ARD Secretariat.

09:30 – 10:30

Official Opening Ceremony

State-protocol opening with traditional acknowledgements, national anthems and keynote addresses by the Royal Patron and host government representatives.

10:45 – 12:30

Plenary: The Mandate of Royal Houses in the 21st Century

High-level panel examining the constitutional, developmental and cultural mandates of traditional leadership across the SADC region.

12:30 – 14:00

State Luncheon

Formal dining with diplomatic seating protocol. Hosted by the ARD Secretariat in partnership with DIRCO.

14:00 – 16:00

Breakout: Traditional Governance & Policy Dialogue

Concurrent closed-door sessions examining land rights, mineral sovereignty and traditional governance frameworks. Moderated by accredited facilitators.

16:15 – 18:00

Plenary: SADC Integration — Progress, Gaps & Opportunities

Assessment of SADC's regional integration agenda with a focus on trade facilitation, infrastructure corridors and monetary harmonisation.

18:00 – 20:00

Networking Reception & Exhibition Opening

Official opening of the exhibition floor, sponsor activations and informal networking. Accompanied by cultural programme.

DAY TWO
INDUSTRIALISATION & INVESTMENT

Morning Assembly & Day 2 Briefing

Programme overview, housekeeping and bilateral facilitation scheduling for the investment day.

09:00 – 10:30

Plenary: Sovereign Wealth, Patient Capital & African Development

Leaders from DFIs, sovereign wealth funds and family offices discuss long-term capital strategies for industrialisation across the SADC region.

10:45 – 12:30

Investment Deal Rooms (Closed Session)

Pre-scheduled bilateral and multilateral meetings between credentialed investors, project proponents and government representatives. Facilitated by the ARD Investment Desk.

12:30 – 14:00

Working Luncheon

Sector-themed tables facilitating continued dialogue in mining & minerals, agri-processing, digital infrastructure, and energy.

14:00 – 16:00

Sectoral Panels: Mining, Infrastructure & Agri-Processing

Three concurrent panel discussions with senior sector leaders presenting flagship projects, investment requirements and partnership proposals.

16:15 – 18:00

Plenary: Financing the African Industrialisation Agenda

Closing plenary synthesising the day's proceedings, presenting a collective investment intent statement and outlining the ARD Deal Register framework.

18:00 – 20:00

Diplomatic Reception & Cultural Evening

Formal diplomatic reception with cultural performances. Hosted in cooperation with the diplomatic corps.

DAY THREE
HERITAGE & COMMITMENT

Morning Assembly & Exhibition Walk

Guided exhibition tour for delegates, sponsors and media. Last opportunity for bilateral meetings.

09:30 – 11:00

Plenary: African Heritage as Strategic Asset

Panel on the economic value of indigenous knowledge, cultural heritage tourism, creative industries and traditional medicine within the African development agenda.

11:15 – 12:30

ARD Founding Chapter Declaration

Reading and formal adoption of the ARD SADC Founding Chapter Declaration. Signed by accredited Royal Houses and institutional representatives.

12:30 – 14:00

Farewell Luncheon

Formal farewell dining with acknowledgements and presentation of next summit communiqué.

14:00 – 16:00

Closing Ceremony

Official closing of the summit with cultural programme, symbolic commitments and media conference.

19:30 – 23:00

ARD Excellence Awards Gala Dinner

Black tie ceremony. Formal presentation of the ARD Excellence Awards, commitment signing, cultural performances and diplomatic dining. By invitation only.
